Lucca Brughmans transfers from Genk to Liverpool for €35 million
Racing Genk has reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans for €35 million.

Racing Genk has reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans. The English club is willing to pay a record fee of €35 million for the player. Brughmans is reportedly set to undergo medical tests in England.
This amount surpasses the previous transfer record set by Kos Karetsas, who recently moved to Dortmund for approximately €33 million including bonuses. The transfer of Brughmans marks a new milestone for Racing Genk in their sales strategy.
Brughmans has the opportunity to sign a contract that runs until 2031 or 2032. However, there is uncertainty regarding his immediate future; it is still unclear whether he will finish the season at Genk or move directly to the Premier League.

Liverpool has officially approached Genk and confirmed its interest in Brughmans. This has led to negotiations in which the clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer fee, which is significantly higher than previous bids.
In addition to Brughmans' transfer, there is also some attention on Romeo Vermant, for whom Club Brugge has turned down a €15 million offer. This indicates that the transfer market is currently very active, with many clubs capitalizing on opportunities to acquire young talent.
