Lúcio Mauro Filho revealed that he was diagnosed with bowel cancer during an appearance on the podcast 'Alt Tabet,' hosted by António Tabet. The 52-year-old actor made the statement during a conversation where he was encouraged to share personal information.

The diagnosis occurred after a check-up that Lúcio underwent following treatment for Covid-19. He described the battle with the disease as part of a difficult period, which included the loss of his mother in February 2024.

Although he did not specify the year of the diagnosis, Lúcio addressed the series of challenges he faced after discovering the illness. The conversation allowed him to share his experiences more openly.

Bowel cancer, which includes tumors in the colon and rectum, is a condition that can be diagnosed through screening tests, such as those performed by Lúcio during his medical follow-up.

The interview highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and health awareness, especially after complex medical situations like Covid-19 infections. The actor used the opportunity to emphasize the need for regular health care.
