Lukas Reimann leaves National Council to join Wil city council
SVP National Councillor Lukas Reimann has been elected to the city council of Wil SG and is resigning from his mandate in the Federal Palace.

Lukas Reimann, a member of the National Council for the SVP since 2007, has been elected to the city executive of Wil SG. He won the second round of voting against Michael Sarbach from the Greens. Following this election, Reimann has decided to resign from his National Council mandate, which he has held for nearly two decades.
The decision to run for office and the associated resignation of Reimann has been covered by media in Switzerland. However, it remains unclear whether he will continue to be active in politics after stepping down from his National Council mandate.
