Malibu named cutest cat in Mechelen
The rescued Siberian forest cat Malibu has won the title of cutest cat in Mechelen, an honor for her remarkable story.

The city of Mechelen organized a search for the cutest cat in the city to celebrate International Cat Day. Out of numerous entries, the choice fell on Malibu, a Siberian forest cat, who can now officially bear the title of 'the cutest cat in the City.'
Malibu was found as an abandoned kitten, with her eyes matted shut and seriously ill by the roadside. She was rescued by an animal shelter and has since built a new life with her adoptive owner, Mieke Van Cauwenberghe, who shared her remarkable story.
According to Mieke, it is heartbreaking how many kittens in need are abandoned. She hopes that Malibu's story will inspire others to help animals in distress.
The designation of Malibu as the cutest cat reflects her transformation from a sick, abandoned kitten to a beloved companion who now enjoys a luxurious life.
News of Malibu's victory has been reported by various local media outlets, including HLN, Het Nieuwsblad, and Gazet van Antwerpen.
