Manchester United lost 0-3 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in Premier League matchday 8. Rylan and Tavernier put the result all but settled before half-time for the side managed by Marco Rose. Evanilson sealed the thrashing with twenty minutes remaining. Manchester United produced a poor display and have now gone eight matches without a win.

The defeat intensifies the instability surrounding manager Michael Carrick, whose future in the role looks increasingly precarious. Manchester United had come into the match looking to bounce back after a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, but failed to show improvement.

Elsewhere in the round, Newcastle United won 2-0 at Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The match was relatively balanced in the first half, with few chances for either side. However, after the interval Newcastle came alive and decided the game in just eleven minutes, capitalizing on their stronger play in that period to secure victory.

Crystal Palace, who had Chilean forward Darío Osorio in their ranks, could not prevent defeat and their crisis in England's top flight deepens. Both teams had come into the match needing points to climb out of the lower reaches of the table, though only Newcastle claimed all three.

Matchday 8 featured multiple encounters across the Premier League, including fixtures between Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest, Coventry City and Fulham, Arsenal and Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City and Brentford, and Sunderland and Leeds United.

According to reports, Liverpool also played in this round, securing a victory at home at Anfield.
