LaLiga has returned with a standout performance from Mariano Díaz, who was instrumental in Alavés' victory over Getafe in the first match of the 2026/27 season. According to Mundo Deportivo, Mariano, a former player for Real Madrid, excelled with two assists and one goal, helping his team break a deadlock in a match marked by numerous fouls.

Moreno's first goal in LaLiga came more than four years later, marking a significant moment in his career. According to Infobae, Mariano had been absent from the scoring charts since his time in Spanish football, making his performance in this reunion even more remarkable.

In addition to his goal, Mariano established himself as a key player in the match, leading Alavés to a resounding victory, as noted by 20minutos. His decisive moment came in the 74th minute when he delivered a cross for Nico Tenaglia's goal, paving the way for a more fluid match in which Alavés seized the decisive lead.

With this performance, Mariano Díaz not only showcased his skills on the field but also positioned himself as the first MVP of the season in LaLiga, making it clear that his return could be pivotal for Alavés this season.
