Mayor of Como bans bicycles in the city center
Following an incident in which he was hit by an e-bike, the Mayor of Como has announced a ban on bicycles.

Alessandro Rapinese, the Mayor of Como, has imposed a ban on bicycles and e-bikes in the historic city center. This move follows a personal incident in which he was struck by an e-bike.
The ban aims to increase pedestrian safety. Rapinese also plans to significantly expand pedestrian zones in the city center to enhance protection for non-motorized road users.
However, there is some mild protest against the ban, which affects both bicycles and e-bikes. Residents and cyclists are expressing dissatisfaction with the decision and are concerned about the negative impact on mobility in the city.
