Real Madrid has sent its 'A' and 'B' lists to UEFA for the Champions League phase. Ferland Mendy does not appear on this list as he has been injured since May 2023 and will be out of action for an extended period. According to 20minutos, Mendy has been replaced on the list by Sergio Martínez, a recent signing from Racing de Santander.

Sergio Martínez will wear number 38 on Real Madrid's squad for the European competition. His inclusion comes at a time when the team is looking to strengthen its defense in the absence of the French full-back. This is a significant move as the team prepares for the international tournament, where they aim to compete at the highest level.

Mendy's situation has become a point of interest for fans, given his importance in Madrid's defense. The decision to include Martínez in his place forms part of the club’s strategy for the current season.
