The German government, led by Merz, has accused Moscow of being responsible for the attack at Leipzig Airport in Germany. This marks the fifth incident related to facilities linked to arms destined for Ukraine and has prompted Berlin to take immediate action.

Among these measures are the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn and Casa Russia in Berlin. The government has also initiated surveillance lists and intensified checks on the shadow fleet, believed to be connected to the attacks.

In response, the European Union and NATO expressed solidarity with Berlin, stating they would respond collectively to these intimidations. Italian Prime Minister Meloni emphasized the importance of remaining united against such threats, while Zelensky announced the closure of Russian airspace.
