Meta has reportedly reached a settlement with numerous US states regarding allegations of harm caused to teenagers by social media usage. The discussions were reported during a federal court trial in California, involving claims from 29 states that social media platforms have negatively impacted young users.
The reported settlement follows assertions from Meta denying the states' allegations. Meta has characterized the demands from attorneys general for design changes and financial compensation as unreasonable and excessive, rejecting the assertions of liability made against the company.
