BCP generated 873.7 million euros in profit during the first nine months, a 12.6% increase compared with the same period a year ago. Figures released by the chief executive also indicate a 13% increase.

Jerónimo Martins, by contrast, reported a 14.5% decline in net profit, totalling 414 million euros in the first nine months of 2026. Despite this fall, the company's revenue grew 4.8% to 27.8 billion euros, including business from Portugal's second-largest supermarket chain Pingo Doce and Recheio as well as Poland's Biedronka. EBITDA rose 7.6% to 1,950 million euros.
