Monsoon Session Disruptions Cost Over Rs 175 Crore
The Monsoon Session has seen significant disruptions, leading to substantial economic losses and low productivity marks.
During the ongoing Monsoon Session, disruptions have resulted in the loss of 7,023 minutes, according to reports. This time loss has incurred an expenditure of approximately Rs 2.5 lakh per minute, totaling around Rs 175 crore.
The productivity of the Rajya Sabha during this session has been reported at only 39 percent. Concerns have been raised regarding the extent of disruptions affecting the House's functioning.
Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed regret over the disruptions and noted that members did not fully utilize their opportunities to address important issues.
