A second rabid cat has been identified in Montérégie, specifically in the municipality of Saint-Anicet. This animal was discovered seven days after the first rabid cat was reported in Godmanchester, according to local sources.

Following this new case, three individuals who had risky contact with the cat received preventive treatment. Health authorities advise the public to remain vigilant regarding this situation.

In the region, a previous rabies case was also noted in July, when at least three individuals were exposed to a cat infected with the virus.
