The 'Moons' spectrograph, a new instrument at the Very Large Telescope (VLT) located in Chile, has made its first observation. This development was announced by the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon (FCUL), which is directly involved in the project.

Scientists from FCUL were involved in the creation and installation of the spectrograph, which aims to contribute to astronomical research. The equipment is considered a significant addition to the VLT's capabilities, enabling new observations in space.

The participation of FCUL and the implementation of the spectrograph underscore international collaboration in the field of astronomy, reflecting the involvement of Portuguese researchers in large-scale scientific projects.
