More than 750 firefighters combat fires in northern Portugal
Fires in Torre de Moncorvo, Oliveira de Azeméis, and Boticas are mobilizing response teams.

More than 750 firefighters are currently involved in combating four fires in northern Portugal. The fire in Torre de Moncorvo, which has spread to the neighboring municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães, is mobilizing the majority of the responders. According to information from Civil Protection, this situation requires the most resources and attention at the moment.
In Oliveira de Azeméis and Boticas, other fires are in the resolution phase, indicating that the firefighting operations are having an effect. Meanwhile, Civil Protection has reinforced firefighting resources, including the use of aerial means, to better confront the active blazes.
Regarding the situation in Ponte de Lima, four firefighters involved in combating the fire suffered minor injuries. They were treated on site, with no need for transfer to hospitals, according to reports.

The most recent report on the firefighting efforts is from 5:45 PM, when more than 950 responders were mobilized, according to a source from RTP. However, there are also reports indicating that the number of firefighters in action may vary, with some sources citing around 700 responders. This discrepancy in numbers could be due to the dynamics of operations and the evolution of teams on the ground.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation, especially in the district of Bragança, where the most critical fires are located, making it an area of concern for emergency teams and the general public.
The coordination and joint effort of different fire corps, as well as the mobilization of aerial resources, are crucial to contain the spread of the fires and ensure the safety of affected populations.
