Movement 'Save Meia Praia' calls for suspension of hotel construction
About 50 people gathered at the Lagos City Hall to request an environmental impact assessment before hotel construction begins.

A group called 'Save Meia Praia' organized a gathering of around 50 people in front of the Lagos Municipal building. The aim of the movement is to request the suspension of the construction of three hotel units in the Meia Praia area.
The protesters expressed concerns about the potential environmental risks associated with the project. They emphasized the need for a proper assessment of the impacts before proceeding with the construction.
The movement is primarily composed of foreign residents in the area who have come together to advocate for the protection of the natural space at Meia Praia.

The demonstration took place on Wednesday, allowing participants to voice their opinions on tourism development in the region. The themes of sustainability and environmental preservation were central to their demands.
Members of the movement are asking the authorities to conduct detailed studies on the possible effects of the construction on the dunes and the local ecosystem before any advancement of the project is considered.
The Lagos Municipal Chamber has not yet made any public comments regarding the movement's requests or about the concerns raised by the demonstration's participants.
