Musetti wins Lyon title, his first in four years
The Italian defeats Taylor Fritz in the final after eliminating fellow countryman Cobolli in the semi-finals.

Lorenzo Musetti won the ATP tournament in Lyon, defeating Taylor Fritz in the final. The player from Carrara has claimed his first title in four years, his last victory dating back to 2022.
On his path to the title, Musetti faced an all-Italian semi-final against Jannik Cobolli. According to ANSA, the Carrara native won 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 and saved four match points during the match. Sky TG24 reports a different result: 6-4, 2-6, 5-7 in two hours and 33 minutes.
Musetti's road to the final included a marathon quarter-final against Frenchman Arthur Van Assche. La Repubblica and Rai News report that the match lasted over three and a half hours, with the Carrara player prevailing 7-6(5), 6-7(7), 6-4 in three hours and 33 minutes.

Cobolli, who had reached the semi-final thanks to a comeback against Nakashima, found no answers against his fellow Italian Musetti. ANSA sources report that the Italian player defeated Frenchman Van Assche in three sets in his quarter-final.
In the final, Musetti faced American Taylor Fritz. According to Rai News, Fritz had overcome his compatriot Tommy Paul in the semi-final with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
The success in Lyon marks a return to winning ways for Musetti after an absence from titles lasting since 2022, bringing an ATP title back to the Italian camp.
