Nearly 1,600 Bitcoins Stolen in Attack on Security Devices

An attack targeting devices designed to secure bitcoins has led to significant losses. The damage is estimated to involve at least 1,596 bitcoins, which corresponds to a value of over 88 million euros.

The stolen bitcoins were obtained due to the inadequately configured devices from the Canadian company Coinkite. These devices are intended to generate digital access codes for protecting cryptocurrencies.
