An attack targeting devices designed to secure bitcoins has led to significant losses. According to an analysis by the American firm Galaxy, tens of millions of euros worth of bitcoins have been stolen. The damage is estimated to involve at least 1,596 bitcoins, which corresponds to a value of over 88 million euros.

The stolen bitcoins were obtained due to the inadequately configured devices from the Canadian company Coinkite. These devices are intended to generate digital access codes for protecting cryptocurrencies.

It is currently unclear how the attack was carried out and what the implications are for customers using the Coinkite devices. The issue raises questions about the security of the equipment and the manufacturer's responsibility.

Experts emphasize the importance of robust security measures in the cryptocurrency world, especially as such incidents seem to be occurring more frequently. However, it is still too early to speculate on the further impact or the company's response.
