Nepal: Landslides and Flooding at the Border with Tibet, at Least 31 Dead and 384 Missing
Severe flooding in Nepal has resulted in the deaths of at least 31 people and the disappearance of hundreds of tourists, including many foreigners.

Massive flooding and landslides have struck Nepal, particularly in the Rasuwa district near the border with Tibet. The provisional death toll indicates at least 31 fatalities, while search operations continue for the missing, estimated to be over 384, including 291 foreigners.
According to reports by Rai News, the Chinese government, under President Xi's leadership, has activated rescue efforts in the region to respond to the emergency. The Italian Foreign Minister has stated that around 90 Italian citizens are registered in the affected area.
The Farnesina is working to verify the possible involvement of Italians among the missing. The missing foreigners include citizens from India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia, as reported by la Repubblica.

Meanwhile, data provided by Vatican News indicates that over 380 travelers are still unaccounted for. The situation is complicated by an avalanche of ice and rocks from a glacier on the Nepalese side of the Himalayas, which contributed to the natural disaster.
Sources from ANSA report that the number of victims is still being updated and specified that among the missing are sixty workers, fifteen customs officials, and thirty-two agents.
The emergency situation remains dire, with local authorities engaged in coordinating rescue operations and assessing the damage caused by the flooding and landslides.
