Nevada Limits Tesla's Vegas Robotaxi Fleet to 10 Vehicles
Tesla's proposed fleet of driverless vehicles in Las Vegas has been capped at 10 by Nevada's Transportation Authority, despite a request for 5,000.

The Nevada Transportation Authority has approved a permit for Tesla to operate a fleet of driverless vehicles in Las Vegas, confining the fleet to just 10 vehicles. This decision comes after Tesla requested permission for a much larger fleet of 5,000 cars.
The permit restricts Tesla's operations to a designated stretch of the Las Vegas Strip and prohibits pickups at Harry Reid International Airport. Additionally, the maximum speed for the vehicles has been set at 45 mph.

This limitation marks a significant reduction from Tesla's original proposal, which aimed for a more extensive deployment of its Robotaxi fleet in the bustling tourist area. As the company continues to roll out its self-driving technology, it faces varied regulatory responses across different regions.
The cap on Las Vegas operations contrasts with reports of Tesla increasing its national Robotaxi fleet by 50%, highlighting differences in regional regulations and fleet expansion strategies.
