New male lion in GaiaZOO dies shortly after arrival
A male lion from Denmark has not survived in the Limburg-based GaiaZOO and died within a month and a half. This is reported by the zoo.

A male lion that was transported from Denmark to the Limburg zoo GaiaZOO has died after just a month and a half at the facility. The animal arrived to replace a 21-year-old male lion that was euthanized at the end of December.
According to the Limburg zoo, the new lion from a Copenhagen zoo initially had a good start. However, this week he began to experience health problems, leading to his death on Thursday.
The zoo had spent six months searching for a suitable replacement for the deceased lion and had chosen the Danish lion due to its good genetic match with the two resident lionesses.
