New York celebrates Pinocchio on the 200th anniversary of Collodi's birth
A celebration featuring cinema, animation, illustration, and academic research.

New York is hosting an exhibition to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Carlo Collodi, the author of Pinocchio. The initiative includes events related to cinema, animation, and illustration, as well as academic research on the famous character.
Among the scheduled programs are film screenings and a panel organized at New York University. A discussion will take place comparing the film versions of Pinocchio created by Matteo Garrone and Luigi Comencini, including video contributions from the two directors.
The event is part of the "The Carlo Collodi Legacy" project, supported by various Italian institutions and the Consulate General of Italy in New York. This project aims to explore Collodi's cultural legacy through different artistic forms.
