Nick Kyrgios suspended temporarily after positive cocaine test
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has confirmed his suspension following a positive test for cocaine during a tournament in Mallorca.

Nick Kyrgios, the 31-year-old Australian tennis player and 2022 Wimbledon finalist, has been provisionally suspended following a positive doping test. The suspension was confirmed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
The positive test occurred during the ATP 250 tournament in Mallorca at the end of June. Kyrgios' urine sample revealed a metabolite of cocaine, according to the ITIA.
Kyrgios has acknowledged his wrongdoing and apologized to his fans, family, and sponsors. He stated that he made a 'huge mistake.'

The player, who has not competed frequently recently, shared the details of the suspension via social media, expressing a desire for his followers to hear the information directly from him.
Kyrgios has been known for his controversial behavior both on and off the court, and this suspension marks a new chapter in his career. It remains unclear how long the suspension will last and what impact it will have on his future participation in tournaments.
Kyrgios' message underscores the seriousness of doping controls in sports, given the implications for athletes who test positive for banned substances.
