Night work and insomnia increase the risk of persistent Covid
Researchers warn about the elevated risk of persistent Covid in those who work at night or suffer from chronic insomnia.

A team of researchers from ISGlobal, in collaboration with the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), has found that people who work night shifts have an 88% higher risk of developing persistent Covid compared to those who work during the day.
This finding reinforces existing concerns about disruptions to circadian rhythms, which have been widely discussed in recent times. The researchers point out that chronic insomnia is also associated with a higher risk of experiencing this aftereffect of the coronavirus, which is still being studied.
The study emphasizes the importance of understanding the long-term consequences of Covid-19 and how factors such as lifestyle can influence vulnerability to these complications.
