Noël Godin, known by the pseudonym l'Entarteur, died this Sunday at the age of 80. His partner announced the news the following day to AFP.
Born in Liège on September 13, 1945, Godin gained fame for his performances in which he threw whipped cream pies at personalities he deemed vain. Notable targets included Bill Gates, Nicolas Sarkozy, and Bernard-Henri Lévy.
The comedian was also called Georges Le Gloupier and presented himself as a trickster and nonconformist, advocating a form of guerrilla against censorship.
Godin was known for his antics that regularly made headlines, provoking both amusement and controversy.
