The Ministry of Health of the Nation has implemented a new resolution stating that non-resident foreigners must pay for services in national hospitals, except in cases of emergency or when life is at risk. This resolution was recently announced and is expected to generate controversy.

The measure was formalized through Resolution 1066/2026, which regulates provisions laid out in Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) 366/2025, which introduced changes to the Immigration Law. This regulation aims to establish a clear framework for the payment mechanism.
