North Korea tests AI-controlled missile
North Korea claims to have tested a medium-range missile capable of altering its trajectory using artificial intelligence.

North Korea has reportedly tested a medium-range missile equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) that can adjust its trajectory. This was reported by Kim Yo-jong, the sister of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. She stated that the missile is capable of flying at low altitudes and making precise course changes.
The missile was launched on Saturday and is said to have been fired from the Wonsan area. According to reports, the projectile flew more than 700 kilometers toward the sea. This information comes from South Korean and Japanese sources closely monitoring the developments.
In light of these test activities, the National Security Office in the South Korean Presidential Office convened for an emergency meeting. During this session, they demanded that North Korea halt such provocations, which are considered a threat.

The UN Security Council has repeatedly forbidden North Korea from testing ballistic missiles and other weapon systems in the past. Nevertheless, the country has continuously conducted such tests under Kim Jong-un, which has drawn international criticism.
The Japanese Defense Agency also confirmed the missile launch and continues to monitor the situation in the region. Following statements from North Korea, this AI-involved technology could lead to further escalation of weapons development, potentially affecting security in East Asia.
North Korea rejected calls for an apology regarding aggressive military actions, such as the use of mines. Kim Yo-jong emphasized the necessity of strengthening the country's military capabilities, which aligns with the strategic considerations under Kim Jong-un.
