The Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon, and Mette-Marit celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary privately. According to reports, the couple decided to limit the festivities due to Princess Mette-Marit's health, as she is recovering from a lung transplant performed in June.

The Norwegian Royal House shared new photographs of the couple on social media, including images from their honeymoon and reflections on their journey together over the past 25 years. In one of the posts, the Royal House highlighted '25 years filled with love, family, and a life together.'

The marriage of Haakon and Mette-Marit, which took place on August 25, 2001, was considered groundbreaking for royalty, as Mette-Marit was a commoner and a single mother at the time she joined the Crown Prince. Initially surrounded by criticism, the couple has faced several challenges since then, including health issues.

Recently, the couple has experienced challenging times, in addition to the Princess's recovery, with growing concerns regarding the health of King Harald. The Royal House commented on the occasion, emphasizing that they are in a phase of uncertainty.

The event was marked not only as a celebration of love but also as a reminder of the couple's resilience in the face of controversies and difficulties over the years. Both have remained active in public life despite personal challenges.

With the celebrations of their anniversary, Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit reaffirm their mutual commitment and the strength of their union, reflecting on the past and the future, along with the continued support of the Norwegian people.
