Ombudsman presents measures to protect the most vulnerable
A study by the Ombudsman reveals 38 recommendations to ensure rights in disaster situations.

The Ombudsman released today a study titled "Evacuation in Disaster Situations," which presents 38 recommendations and best practices. This study aims to safeguard the fundamental rights of the most vulnerable populations during evacuation processes in emergency cases.
Among the suggested measures, the importance of meteorological monitoring stands out. This practice would allow for better planning and execution of evacuations, appropriately responding to adverse weather conditions that may arise.
The recommendations also include guidance for clear and effective communication with affected communities, ensuring that all citizens, especially the most vulnerable, are informed about evacuation procedures.

Additionally, the study addresses the need for training and support for emergency teams, adequately preparing professionals who will be in contact with the population during crises.
The Ombudsman acknowledges that protecting citizens' rights is crucial in disaster situations and emphasizes the need for an integrated and coordinated approach to effectively tackle these situations.
