Sheffield United could be subject to a 12-point deduction after the High Court ruled that COH Sports Bidco Limited, the company involved in the club's acquisition, is to be placed into liquidation. This decision follows a winding-up petition filed by United World, led by Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, due to an alleged debt of £35 million (approximately US$47.43 million).

The club was taken over by Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy in December 2024, but the current situation regarding the financial obligations linked to the previous ownership has raised concerns. According to reports, the points deduction could have significant implications for Sheffield United's standing in the league.

As the situation develops, club officials and supporters are awaiting further clarification on the potential impact of the ruling, while legal proceedings surrounding the company and its financial commitments continue. The outcome may affect the club's operations and competitive status in the upcoming seasons.
