Forest fire in Aldea del Fresno and Villamantilla prompts lockdown

A forest fire has been declared in Aldea del Fresno, leading authorities to lockdown the towns of Aldea del Fresno and Villamantilla. The Community of Madrid has activated Situation Operational 2 of the Civil Protection Plan against Forest Fires (INFOMA).

In the area of the fire, 20 ground units and 5 aerial resources are in operation. These teams consist of forest firefighters and forest agents, who are working to extinguish the blaze. The deployment of these resources aims to contain and control the progress of the fire, which is affecting this area of the Sierra Oeste of Madrid.
