Paraná under alert for tornadoes and severe storms
The state of Paraná is facing a red alert for the formation of tornadoes and heavy rain in the coming days, according to information from Climatempo and Civil Defense.

Paraná is under a red alert for severe storms, with forecasts for tornadoes between this Thursday (10) and Friday (11). Climatempo indicates that meteorological conditions are favorable due to the formation of an extratropical cyclone and the arrival of a new cold front, which are expected to cause heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, hail, and strong winds that may exceed 85 km/h in some areas.
According to the Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar), two tornadoes have already been recorded in the state, affecting 583 people. Civil Defense has reinforced guidance to the population regarding the risks associated with the storms and the protective measures to be adopted.
In addition to Paraná, the alert also extends to parts of the state of São Paulo. On Friday morning, the São Paulo Civil Defense issued a warning about the possibility of hail and severe storms in various regions, including Presidente Prudente and the interior of the state, where landslides have already occurred and classes have been suspended in several cities due to the weather conditions.

In Sorocaba, the City Council decided to close its session early at 2 PM in response to the Civil Defense alert regarding the possibility of tornadoes in the area.
Meteorologists continue to monitor the situation as the extratropical cyclone moves through southern Brazil, increasing uncertainty about the duration of the rains and the intensity of the storms in the coming days.
In light of this situation, local authorities are urging the population to follow the guidance of Civil Defense and remain attentive to weather updates.
