PFIPC Investigation: House Panel Finds Fraud and Forged Documents
The House of Representatives committee investigating the PFIPC reports discovery of fraudulent accounts and forged documents, while exonerating Gbajabiamila.

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee has released an interim report on its investigation into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), revealing significant findings that include 58 bank accounts allegedly linked to an individual named Adeyemi.
The committee uncovered evidence suggesting forgery along with alterations of presidential and legislative documents that were claimed to provide official legitimacy to the PFIPC. This included a fabricated appointment letter misattributed to the Presidency, according to reports.
The investigation relied on a variety of sources, including oral testimonies, documentary evidence, financial records, and submissions from government institutions and private organizations, in addition to purported employees and alleged victims.

The committee's inquiry has cleared House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila of any involvement, stating that he was not summoned for questioning as the focus remained on those responsible for establishing the agency.
During the investigation, the committee chair explained that their mandate did not extend to questioning Gbajabiamila, emphasizing that their goal was to identify who established the PFIPC and how it came into existence.
The findings of the committee suggest a troubling level of fraud, with reports indicating a total of ₦400 million potentially involved in these activities.
