The National Police and the Civil Guard carried out an eviction at Trampolín Beach, where approximately 4,000 migrants had set up a camp on the coast of Ceuta. The eviction was executed with a substantial operation deployed by the security forces, including the intervention of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP).

As a result of the operation, it was reported that 1,800 homeless migrants were transferred to temporary reception facilities established by the Government. These facilities are intended to provide basic assistance while their asylum requests are processed.

The operation took place more than 21 days after the massive entry of 72,000 migrants into Ceuta, which triggered a humanitarian crisis in the region. Although it is unclear how many people will remain on the beach after the eviction, some reports indicated that around 1,700 migrants were escorted by the Police during their transfer.

The eviction has initiated a cleaning process on the beach, which had been left in deplorable condition due to the large number of people who stayed there. Local authorities have begun to clean the area following the abandonment of the camps.

The transportation and identification of the migrants by immigration officers are currently underway, although it is expected that many will remain in administrative limbo until decisions are made regarding their asylum applications.
