Portuguese banks report solid results in the first half of the year
Portuguese banks reflect positive results in the first half, despite decreased profitability compared to 2025.

In the first half of the year, Portuguese banks reported results classified as "overall solid" in a report by Morningstar DBRS released this Wednesday. Although profitability has decreased compared to the high levels of 2025, performance continues to be supported by robust credit growth and increased fee income.
Additionally, risk costs remained at controlled levels, contributing to the positive performance of the banking sector. The analysis indicates that, despite the decline in profitability, the financial fundamentals of the banks remain strong.
