Power outage in Flemish Ardennes affects another 10,000 households
In the Flemish Ardennes, tens of thousands of families temporarily lost electricity due to a fault at a high-voltage station.

In the Flemish Ardennes, approximately 10,000 families and businesses are without power due to a fault at the high-voltage station operated by grid manager Elia. This issue has affected the electricity supply in and around Oudenaarde.
According to Fluvius, a malfunction occurred at an Elia installation, impacting hundreds of distribution cabins. The fault was identified in the morning and caused a significant disruption to the power supply.
However, since 1 PM, the majority of the affected households have regained electricity, but around 1,000 households are still reported to be without power at this time.

This is the second major power outage in two weeks in this area. A similar malfunction occurred two weeks ago, also caused by a fault in electrical installations.
The impact of this outage is considerable, given the number of families temporarily without power. Fluvius has indicated that it may take several hours before the last households are restored to service.
The situation is being continuously monitored, and emergency services have been deployed to assist residents in the affected areas.
