Premier De Wever resigns to the king after failed budget negotiations
Bart De Wever submitted his resignation to King Philippe today at 9:30 AM following the failure of budget negotiations.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever submitted his resignation to King Philippe this morning. This occurred after a night of unsuccessful budget negotiations, during which the parties failed to reach an agreement.
According to reports from various Belgian media, De Wever arrived at the Royal Palace in Brussels around 9:30 AM for a meeting with the king. He did not provide any comments to the present press.
The negotiations, which lasted deep into the night, saw the prime minister and his core cabinet—comprising five parties—struggling to reach consensus on the budget for the coming year.

After more than an hour and a half of discussions with the king, De Wever left the palace without making a statement. The king has taken the decision regarding the prime minister's resignation "under advisement."
The situation is regarded as a serious governmental crisis, particularly since De Wever's resignation could lead to new elections in Belgium. This is a consideration for the king, as reported.
New talks will soon take place with political leaders to reach a solution, as well as the possibility of further negotiations. It remains unclear how the situation will develop.
