Prince Gabriel earns master's degree from Royal Military Academy

Prince Gabriel, the eldest son of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, has obtained his master's degree in Social and Military Sciences from the Royal Military Academy (KMS) in Brussels after four years of study. This milestone occurs on Thursday, making him the first Belgian prince to successfully complete this full course of study.

Following his graduation, Prince Gabriel will continue his military career. He will soon begin an officer training course at the Infantry School in Arlon, where he will be trained as a platoon commander. These steps in his military career align with his previous decisions for a future within Defence.

Various sources have confirmed that Prince Gabriel will continue his training after Arlon with a specialization as a paratrooper. This training will take place in Marche-les-Dames, where he will further develop in his role.

His further training as a paratrooper is a significant step, as this program is focused on developing combat skills and learning to operate in diverse and challenging environments. It is a recognizable path for members of the Belgian armed forces.

According to HLN, the palace confirmed this information and Prince Gabriel has clearly chosen to take on an active role within the Belgian Defence. He continues the tradition of the Royal Family, which highly values commitment to the military.

The completion of his studies at the KMS and the upcoming training with Defence have been reported by various media outlets, including Het Nieuwsblad and VRT NWS, who are closely following the progress of his career.
