Paris Saint-Germain travels to Rennes to face Stade Rennais in the opening day of Ligue 1 on Sunday at 8:45 PM. Originally scheduled to be held at Parc des Princes, the match will take place at Roazhon Park due to the condition of the pitch at the Paris stadium. It was deemed unsuitable for a league match due to the heatwave and a fungus affecting the grass.

Luis Enrique, the PSG coach, expressed concerns about this situation. He stated that "it is not possible to play twice away against the same team," referring to the need to uphold match fairness. He advocated for the return match against Rennes to be held at Parc des Princes, so that all teams can play once at home and once away.

The upcoming match has also raised questions regarding PSG's preparations for the trip. According to some reports, the team might face the LFP competition commission next week to discuss the location of the return match.

On the other hand, Rennes will have to cope without two of its key players. Mahdi Camara is suspended and Seko Fofana is recovering from injury, which could influence the team's lineup for the match against PSG.

Despite these absences, Stade Rennais is gearing up to host PSG and put on a good performance. The coach and the team are aware of the importance of starting this Ligue 1 season well.

The highly anticipated match will be closely followed by fans and media, with stakes not only for the clubs but also for the league as a whole, as the season starts amidst concerns about match fairness.
