Quinten Timber has successfully completed his transfer from Olympique Marseille to Crystal Palace just before the transfer deadline closed. This took place in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, after which the agreement was officially announced on Crystal Palace's club channels.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who had been linked with a departure from Olympique Marseille earlier this summer, has signed a contract that runs until the middle of 2031. The transfer is reportedly valued at around twenty million euros, which the club is paying to the French side.

The announcement of the transfer was made at half-past one in the morning, more than an hour after the official closing of the transfer window. This demonstrates that negotiations continued until the last moment.

Crystal Palace has taken significant steps to secure Timber, particularly at the deadline of the transfer period, which ended at midnight. The club, known for its recent successes, views Timber as a valuable addition.

According to reports from L'Équipe and NOS, discussions between the two clubs and Timber himself had been ongoing for some time, but intensified in the days leading up to the deadline. Marseille was open to Timber's departure, which facilitated the transfer.

With his arrival at Crystal Palace, Timber joins a club that has recently qualified for the UEFA Conference League, a fact that could contribute to his development as a player at the highest level.
