Rare solar eclipse coming next week in the Netherlands

Next Wednesday, October 25, a solar eclipse will take place that is visible in the Netherlands. The eclipse will begin around 7:15 PM, with the maximum coverage of the sun occurring at 8:11 PM above Utrecht.

This solar eclipse is special as a total eclipse will be visible in several European countries. In Iceland, Spain, and the far northeastern part of Portugal, the sun will completely disappear, a phenomenon that last occurred in Europe in 1999.

Due to the expected increase in visitors to these areas, accommodations in Spain have raised their prices. It is anticipated that many people will come to watch the solar eclipse.

In the Netherlands, it is recommended to use special glasses to safely observe the phenomenon. It is important not to look at the eclipse with the naked eye to prevent eye damage.
