Real Madrid announces signing of Yan Diomande for €125 million
The Ivorian forward becomes the most expensive signing in the club's history, signing a seven-year contract.

Real Madrid has officially confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Ivorian forward Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. This transfer, which has concluded after weeks of negotiations, becomes the most expensive in the history of the club, costing €125 million, which could increase based on add-ons and objectives.
Diomande joined Leipzig last year, arriving from Leganés for just €20 million. In his only season in the Bundesliga, the young forward stood out by scoring 13 goals and providing 9 assists, which attracted the attention of several European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, who ultimately withdrew from the race for his signing.
The contract binding the player to Real Madrid is for a duration of seven years, extending until June 2033. This move not only marks a financial milestone for the club but also positions Diomande as the most expensive African player in football history.

Leganés, his former club, will also receive a financial compensation of around €400,000 thanks to FIFA's solidarity mechanisms, as well as the agreement made with Leipzig following the player's sale.
With this signing, Diomande tops the list of the most expensive transfers made by Real Madrid, surpassing other notable players such as Jude Bellingham. Other recent signings by the club include Bernardo Silva, Konaté, Cucurella, and Dumfries, which strengthens the squad under their coach's direction.
Diomande's arrival contributes to a period of strengthening for the team, which aims to optimize its performance in national and international competitions. Expectations regarding his impact on the club are high after having shone on the world stage representing his country at the last World Cup.
