Revenue and guests in tourism accommodation show growth in the first half

Tourism accommodation revenues increased by 5%, while the number of guests rose by 2.1% to 15.1 million in the first half of 2025, according to data from INE.

Total revenue from tourism accommodation grew by 5% in the second quarter of 2025, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This increase reflects a moderate recovery in the sector, as indicated by the latest results.

In the first half of 2025, the number of guests in tourism accommodation also registered a rise of 2.1%, totaling 15.1 million. INE noted that this growth occurred compared to the same period last year.

Despite the increase in revenue and the number of guests, INE highlighted that the sector continues to show signs of slowdowns, suggesting a need for continuous monitoring of the performance of tourism accommodation.
