In the first leg, held at El Campín Stadium, both teams ended in a goalless draw, keeping the series open for the return match. Independiente Santa Fe needs to score a goal to advance in the tournament.

River Plate, known as Los Millonarios, will look to leverage their home advantage to secure a place in the quarterfinals. Despite the draw in the first match, the Argentine team has the benefit of playing at home in this second leg.
