Roger Federer Confirms No Plans for Competitive Tennis Return
Roger Federer, attending a US Open exhibition match, stated he has no intention to return to competitive tennis following his retirement.

Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam champion, has ruled out a return to competitive tennis. During an appearance in New York for an exhibition match amid the activities of US Open Fan Week, Federer confirmed that he has no aspirations to resume professional play, following his retirement in September 2022.
Federer mentioned that he has been enjoying his time away from the sport, dedicating his focus to personal training and family. He emphasized his contentment with the decisions he made after retiring from tennis. The former player appears to be relishing his experiences outside of competitive events.
While in New York, Federer is set to participate in an exhibition match but clarified that this would not signal a broader comeback similar to that of Serena Williams, who recently returned to the US Open for two matches before her exit in the mixed doubles quarter-finals with Carlos Alcaraz.

Williams' brief return to the US Open garnered significant attention and culminated in a loss to Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli. The match served as a notable moment in her career, occurring more than 1,400 days after she last played and leading to substantial fan engagement during the tournament.
Despite the comparative experiences, Federer remains firm in his decision not to follow a similar path to Williams, who had inspired a wave of nostalgia and excitement upon her return. Federer’s upcoming exhibition match will be a separate endeavor, showcasing his enduring presence in the sport without re-entering the competitive scene.
Additionally, Federer is expected to receive recognition for his contributions to tennis with an induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, further solidifying his legacy in the sport as he enjoys this new chapter away from professional competition.
