Russia has issued a rare explicit nuclear threat against NATO European countries, stating it is prepared to use "its entire arsenal," including nuclear weapons, should there be attempts to isolate the Kaliningrad region. This statement was made through a diplomatic note delivered to the Western military alliance, underscoring the seriousness of the warning.

The warning specifically targets Western intentions that may seek to restrict access to the Russian exclave, which borders Poland and Lithuania. Russian representatives asserted they have no doubt that any blockade actions would provoke a vigorous military response, potentially including nuclear options.

In response, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that the alliance is a defensive organization and called on Russia to cease its irresponsible nuclear rhetoric. Rutte condemned the threats and stressed the need to maintain calm in the current situation.

The tense situation is seen as part of an escalation of hostilities between NATO and Russia, particularly amid complicated geopolitical contexts in the Baltic region. NATO is monitoring the situation closely and reaffirms its commitment to the collective defense of its members.

Additionally, the alliance condemned any forms of the use of force, including nuclear rhetoric, thus maintaining a firm stance against Russian threats. Russia's warning is interpreted as an attempt to intimidate allied countries and reflects the increasing tension in Europe.

The Russian diplomatic note not only reaffirms readiness to defend Kaliningrad but also represents a critical moment in relations between Moscow and Western allies, in a scenario where the war in Ukraine has exacerbated divisions and mutual distrust.
