Russia Warns of Potential Strikes on UK Military Targets Over Ukraine Support
The Russian government threatens military action against the UK in response to missile technology support for Ukraine.

Russia has issued a warning that it could target British military sites, both within and outside Ukraine, following the UK's supply of missile technology to Ukraine. The Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, emphasized that the UK and France bear 'direct responsibility' for the Ukrainian strikes on Russia, which have reportedly utilized British missiles.
Zakharova described the current situation as 'playing with fire,' urging the UK to reconsider its support for Ukraine. She articulated concerns that Britain's stance could escalate the conflict to a new level, warning that such actions could have serious repercussions.
This escalation in rhetoric came after Russia claimed that Ukrainian forces had used British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles in strikes that included an attack on a shopping center in the Russian-controlled city of Donetsk.

In her remarks during a media briefing in Moscow, Zakharova highlighted the serious implications of the UK's military assistance to Ukraine, calling on London to adopt a less aggressive approach. She characterized the UK’s actions as hostile, threatening stability in the region.
Pat McFadden, the UK work and pensions secretary, responded to concerns over social media safety, indicating that he expects new protections for young people provided by Meta to also extend to the UK market. He stated that the government is proactively addressing these issues, although this topic was separate from the military tensions with Russia.
The UK has not officially commented on the specifics of the Russian threats. However, the situation underscores the heightened tensions resulting from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the involvement of Western nations.
