According to Ukrainian military governor Oleh Synyehubov, Russian drone strikes in the eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv killed two women. The attacks occurred near the Ukrainian border, specifically in the village of Lebyazhye, where six drones were deployed. The victims, aged 66 and 73, were killed during these strikes, and two other individuals were injured. Additionally, several houses in the area were damaged, with five catching fire and three being completely destroyed.

At the same time, reports emerged of damage to a border crossing to Moldova due to another drone strike. According to information from the Ukrainian border guard, the Tabaky checkpoint in the southern Ukrainian region of Odessa was damaged during a nighttime attack. Passenger and vehicle traffic at this crossing was subsequently halted and redirected to other crossings.

Moldovan authorities have been informed about the situation surrounding the border crossing. It is unclear to what extent the attacks could impact diplomatic relations between Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

The internationally condemned drone strikes occur in the context of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has persisted for several years. Such military actions continually pose serious threats to the civilian population living in the affected regions.

Russia is increasingly accused of expanding its military activities in Ukraine, leading to more civilian injustices and suffering. Besides the human losses, such attacks also strike against the infrastructure of the crisis regions.

Ukrainians and the international community are closely monitoring the situation, as new outbursts seem possible at any moment. Whether and how further escalations in the conflicts between Russia and neighboring countries will occur remains to be seen.
