Serious traffic accident involving Dutch coach near Zernez
A serious traffic accident in Graubünden resulted in multiple fatalities as a Dutch coach overturned. Rescue services are on the scene.

On Thursday, a serious traffic accident occurred in Switzerland between the towns of Zernez and Susch in the canton of Graubünden. A coach from the Netherlands was en route when it collided with a guardrail and overturned. At the time, the bus was carrying 48 to 49 people.
Images from the accident site show the overturned bus and numerous rescue workers involved in retrieving the injured and deceased. According to police reports, several people were killed in the accident, and there are also injuries to report. The exact number of victims remains unclear for now.
The Graubünden cantonal police stated that various rescue organizations are present at the scene. The recovery of the bodies had not been completed by the evening of the same day. Due to ongoing investigations, further information on the cause of the accident has initially been withheld.

The Dutch coach had apparently departed several days earlier, on Monday, as it was heading towards Austria. Reports indicate that the bus was part of a tour group planning a stay in Austria.
Emergency services report that the accident site is difficult to access due to vehicle recovery and necessary rescue measures. Helicopters are being deployed to transport injured individuals to hospitals promptly.
Authorities have announced that they will initiate investigations into the exact cause of the accident and provide further information as it becomes available. Currently, the focus is on searching for possible survivors and supporting those affected. A spokesperson for the cantonal police confirmed the sad news regarding the dead and injured.
