Seven die in stampede at Indian temple during festival
A stampede at a Hindu temple in Bihar during a festival led to seven deaths and several injuries, according to reports from multiple sources.

A deadly stampede occurred at a Hindu temple in the Lakhisarai district of Bihar, eastern India, on Monday, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and injuring more than a dozen others. The incident was triggered by a snapped electric wire that caused panic among the thousands of devotees present for prayers, as reported by officials.
Witnesses stated that the stampede transpired near the Ashok Dham Temple, where many worshippers had gathered for the third Monday of Shravan, a significant month in the Hindu calendar that usually spans from July to August. Numerous devotees arrived via trains, contributing to the overwhelming crowds at the temple.

According to The Independent, the falling electric pole exacerbated the chaos as devotees attempted to flee the area. Security measures in place struggled to manage the large influx of people, leading to the tragic incident.
Al Jazeera reported that the number of injured reached nineteen, highlighting the severity of the situation. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the stampede.
